Patrick Kavanagh Centre

Patrick Kavanagh is one of Ireland's greatest poets. Born in Inniskeen near Carrickmacross his works are celebrated each autumn at the Kavanagh Weekend.

Brehon Brewhouse

The Brehon Brewhouse, based on a dairy farm near Inniskeen outside Carrickmac- ross, produces a range of fine craft beers in a modern brewery. Guided tours, including tasting, are available in the brewery and farm visits can also be arranged. The Brewhouse is near the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen.

Carrickmacross Workhouse, County Monaghan

Workhouse Centre

The Workhouse was build in 1841. It was beautifully restored and is now a Community Training Centre. Visit the Carrickmacross Workhouse Famine Museum. The Workhouse is open for 1 hour tours from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays all year - individual, family, groups, schools, and bus tours are welcome.
